Advantages of Stamped and Formed Technologies in Power Connectors
Tyco Electronics has developed and produced power connectors using alternative manufacturing technologies while other connector manufacturers continue to produce products with traditional screw machined contacts.
This paper will present some of the benefits offered from a stamped and formed power contact design. The specific power connector evaluated is the “Zone 1” connector specified in the Advanced Telecommunications Computer Architecture (ATCA) Standard.
